THE RECENT FACTS REGARDING THE RESULTS OF BASIC SUBJECTS IN ANNA UNIVERSITY EXAMS THROUGH LIGHT ON US ABOUT REVISION OF SYSTEMATIC TEACHING WHICH IS GIVEN IN THE HINDU THAT MANY HAVE FAILED AND THIS IS THE CAUSE OF STUDENTS FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS AS SUCH RURAL, HAVING EDUCATION IN MOTHER TONGUE, LOW SCHOOL SCORING ETC..
The above given facts indicate one point that students don’t have similar intelligence and are from different settings and need to be trained based on grading group wise and tutorials offered with graded texts. But how can this be done as the university does not offer any workload specifically to tutorials and counseling?
I have been handling English classes – worried about lack of class room etiquette from the students ; they have been misled by schools , I think that class room activity is not at all a serious affair,hence teaching methods must be given thrust. When tutorials are planned senior teachers will not be reluctant to handle students in advanced classes.The question paper for technical English 1 , Anna university is short of vision which awards 15 marks for a hundred word paragraph.that tells the labour put by the question paper setter instead he should have framed a number of tests like cloze tests with minimal marks.keeping a standard to the weakness of wards is no use.
